D&D House rules

Our Dungeonmaster, Daniel, created some house rules for our party.

Thanks.

  1. Character creation
    1. Ability scpres are determined by rolling 1d8 for each ability and subtracting it’s value from 19. After that you may interchange two ability scores once.
    2. You get one additional feat at character creation which must be spent an a racial feat or a talent.
  2. Races
    1. The elven proficiency with the rapier changes to scimitar, tradional elven weapon.
    2. Gnomes get no boni fighting against kobolds, goblinoids or creatures of the giant type because there aren’t ancient rivalries with this species. Instead gnomes treat Bluff, Diplomacy and Forgery as class skills independent of thier actual class. They have indeed a very long tradition in diplomacy and espionage.
  3. Classes
You can choose among all classes from the PHB, the Psion, Soulblade, Psychic Warrior and Wilder from the EPH and the Artificer from the ECS. Further you can take racial substitution levels as suggested in RoE. Till now there are no substitution levels for the core races or savage species but you may suggest such. If your class grants bonus feats you may add class features to this feat list if you lost them by taking a racial substitution level.

    1. Druids gain weapon and armor proficiencys as stated in the PHB but may use neither weapons nor armor made from metal. There is a tradition in using volcanic glass and the various kinds of special wood aviable in Eberron.
    2. Fighters get 4+INT skill points per level.
    3. Sorcerers get a bonus feat at level 1, 5, 10, 15 and 20 which my be choosed from all metamagic feats and bloodline feats.
    4. If you specialize as a Wizard you may choose divination as one of your prohibited schools. The additional spell slots you get can be used to cast spells spontanously. This is the only exception to the rule that Wizards have to prepare spells ahead of time. Nevertheless this does not count as the ability to cast spells spontaneously with respect to the prerequisites of a feat or (prestige) class.
